Huntley Community School District 158 is proud to announce the completion of its new strategic plan: Huntley 2030 – Building Tomorrow Together. This plan is the result of months of thoughtful collaboration with students, staff, families and community members.

The strategic planning process began in the fall of 2024 by engaging students and staff from across the district in discussions to share their experiences and help shape three visionary components of the new plan: Portrait of a Learner, Portrait of a Learning Environment and Portrait of a Work Environment. The "portraits" provide a foundational framework for the district’s strategic plan, outlining the skills and attributes needed for student success now and in the future, and how the learning and work environments should support that vision.

To lead the planning process, the district assembled a Guiding Team of approximately 50 parents, staff, students and community members. Meeting regularly from February through April, the team helped identify key themes, refine priorities, and define long-range goals aligned to the newly developed portrait frameworks. The district also engaged a variety of stakeholders through Vision & Voice community engagement sessions across its three campuses as well as district wide surveys to encourage broad-based participation and feedback.

At the regular Board of Education meeting on June 12, 2025, the board unanimously approved the new plan by a 6-0 vote. The final plan includes three portrait frameworks, updated mission and vision statements, cross-cutting concepts, and five priority goal areas that will guide the district’s work through 2030. Each year, measurable goals and progress indicators will be used to ensure continued alignment and impact.
