On October 30, 2025, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released the 2024-25 Illinois Report Card. See below to learn about Huntley 158's academic achievements and top rankings in state summative designations.
The Illinois Report Card is an annual accountability report for the public that provides a snapshot of how Illinois schools and school districts are performing across a number of categories, including academic achievement and growth, graduation, college and career readiness, and student attendance. You can find Huntley 158’s annual report card on the district’s website.
On the 2024-25 Report Card, Huntley 158 is proud to celebrate the following:
- Conley, Leggee, and Mackeben Elementary Schools earned the Exemplary designation from ISBE. All other Huntley 158 schools received a Commendable designation. Click the link to learn more about ISBE’s Summative Designations. Note: While the district's LIGHT and Early Childhood Center (ECC) programs are not assigned state summative designations, ECC earned the Gold Circle of Quality recognition this year (and in previous years) through ExceleRate Illinois.
- Chronic absenteeism decreased by 10% over the past two years.
- Average scale scores in both reading and math on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) increased (and were not impacted by renorming).
- Huntley 158 continues to increase the rate at which it outperforms the state average in ELA, math and science.
- Huntley High School’s graduation rate remains strong at 95%.
- English Learners showed significant growth, with more students reaching proficiency on the ACCESS assessment and outperforming the all-student average in several schools.
These results reflect the investments the district has made in:
- High-quality instructional materials that align to state standards and promote deep student understanding;
- Ongoing professional learning focused on effective instructional practices;
- Partnership with our families and board of education to support attendance and student success;
- Data-driven supports and interventions that address individual student needs;
- Equitable access to rigorous learning experiences across all grade levels; and
- Strengthening core instruction to ensure consistent, high-quality teaching in every classroom.
In addition to its impressive achievements in the past year, Huntley 158 is committed to continuous school improvement. In the upcoming school year, educators and administrators look forward to focusing on how to ensure more students meet or exceed their expected growth targets in reading and math, accelerating progress toward English language proficiency for our multilingual learners, and honing in on supports and opportunities for our students with IEPs to achieve their full academic potential.
Benchmark Changes This Year
It is important to note that ISBE’s 2024-25 Report Card reflects new proficiency benchmarks for English language arts, math, and science to provide a more accurate picture of student learning as well as college and career readiness. The updated benchmarks were developed through an 18-month collaborative process involving educators, postsecondary representatives, and community members, using ACT college placement data to better reflect college and career readiness.
Key changes to note:
- Performance levels: All state assessments will now use four consistent performance levels – Above Proficient, Proficient, Approaching Proficient, and Below Proficient.
- Proficiency calculations: Recalibrated benchmarks will change how proficiency rates are calculated for schools and districts, aligning them more closely with national standards and other measures of student performance.
- Growth reporting: Despite the change in benchmarks, student progress can still be compared to previous years using the Student Growth Percentile for grades 3-8.
- Learning standards: Illinois learning standards and the assessments themselves remain unchanged; the changes affect only how proficiency is defined and reported.

“The Illinois Report Card is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of our educators and staff and reflect on our goals,” said Superintendent Jessica Lombard. “We are deeply proud of the important work being done at all our schools and thank our families and the community for partnering with us in our mission to educate and empower all students always. When we work together on behalf of our students, we are able to achieve remarkable outcomes."
This year, Huntley 158 launched its new strategic plan, Huntley 2030: Building Tomorrow Together, and is committed to engaging students, staff, families, and the community in discussions about the district’s priorities, goal areas and plans to continue to improve student outcomes.
On Thursday, November 6, the district will host a Curriculum Workshop to provide an overview of the recent data released by the state and to engage in data-driven discussions about student success. District administrators and school leaders will:
- Examine the latest state assessment data to identify trends, areas of celebration, and areas for growth;
- Identify key goals and strategies outlined in School Improvement Plans and their impact on results; and
- Recognize and celebrate areas where students demonstrated significant improvement or consistently strong performance.
The workshop is open to students, staff, families and the community. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the District Office, 650 Dr. John Burkey Drive in Algonquin.
